Happy New Year to all our friends, family and followers! My sister, Solange, and her family have joined us for new year. They were hoping for some skiing but instead we have glorious sunshine that has rather scuppered that idea. We spent new year’s eve walking instead, hoping to earn our supper. Supper was an all evening affair starting wirh olive Ascolane and finishing with chocolate fondue (kiwi being the main dipping ingredient, of course. We still have two crates of them!). Somewhere in the middle there was some baked squash lasagne, made with fresh eggs and squash grown by our neighbour up the hill. I will here apologise to George and to his cousins, Camille, Peter and William for telling them it was carrot- it wasn’t I’m afraid.
Midnight found most of us standing outside where the ivy used to be watching the most incredible firework displays. The entire valley and beyond was visible and the number of fireworks was quite amazing.
Today we are off up to the Rifugio Paci ( our nearest mountain refuge) for lunch, again in glorious sunshine. Apologies to those of you who are feeling rather damp in the UK, but this is one of the main reasons we moved here! Anyway, happy new year to all!
New Years Day is gloriously clear back here – at last after days of incessant rain and gales. Happy New Year to you all. xx
Happy new year to you all hope to visit you soon x
It would be lovely to see you! We need some sanity round here!
a belated new year to all of you.
