building update

One week in and the house weighs a couple of tonnes less. within two days all the tiles had been removed, one doorway bricked up, two opened up and the steps at the end of the corridor moved along a bit. Not only that but all the rubble had gone, including the stuff we created by demolishing the indoor BBQ. AND they wheeled all the decent bits of travertine round for me to build into my wall! Plumber and electritian have both been and removed everything old, putting in new pipes and wiring starts tomorrow. Electritian brought us cakes on Saturday Рhis wife works in a bakery.

In the meantime spring has sprung and we find ourselves eating lunch outside in roughly 16 degree air temperatures, warmer in the sun. I do feel for you lot stuck at around zero, really I do!!!

  1. This is starting to look really good – well done! Lucky you with Spring, it’s -2 here and lower with wind chill. This time last year it was shorts and t-shirts! Definitely some advantages to being in Italy!
