We have been told many times that donkeys are intelligent. They watch, take a long time to learn but then retain knowledege without needing to be reminded. We discovered today that this happens even when you don’t really intend it to…
For months we have been taking the lazy route into Ambrogio’s enclosure, rather than opening the gate we slip through the gap in the bars of the fence. That’s probably about all I need to say.
Luckily he managed to get himself out again when his rather ample tummy impeded forward progress. Needless to say, we have now added a wire at middle level and are using the gate! I just hope he is not watching the chickens too closely.
Header picture is old…we are still happily living through an early spring!
