Following on from our recent post ‘An Uneven Race’, where it was Us against Ambrogio in the gathering of chestnuts (and we were coming a poor second at times already). The stakes have now risen considerably and we now have some serious competition when it comes to the collecting (well we are doing the collecting and everyone else seems to have eating as the priority).
Yes it is a family of wild pigs (9 in total) who have come visiting for the past few days, popping in for a small snack. They have turned the top field into a miniature WW1 battlefield as they furrow through the leaves and earth in search of their breakfast. What is most worrying, is that they were there at 7 in the morning so gathering the days first fall of chestnuts, totally out of order.
